Joe Kristufek is a self proclaimed "horse racing ambassador." He currently serves as the racing writer for the Daily Herald newspaper in Chicago where he has been the leading published handicapper for seven of the last eight seasons. He also plies his trade as Arlington Park’s morning linemaker and program comments writer, and is involved in several educational projects within the Chicago horse racing industry. He is a regular contributor to ntra.com and Horseplayer Magazine.
Under the umbrella of his company DAK Productions, Inc., Kristufek built Horsin’ Around TV (2003-2005), a horse racing magazine show, from scratch. The program aired on Fox Sports Chicago in 2003 and 2004 and on Comcast SportsNet Chicago in 2005, and he served as the program’s producer and host. Kristufek was also employed by The Racing Nework as an on-air host and content coordinator (2000 and 2001), and he has done just about every publicity-related job imaginable during his 14 years in the industry.
He takes great pride in educating potential horse racing fans, while keeping current enthusiasts interested and informed.
